- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪Receptionist was polite and helpful to the degree she could be. I brought my 6 year old in who had rapid shallow breathing when at rest or asleep and an inability to breath in deep. Very poor triage. They took her blood pressure weight and temperature never once looking at or actually triaging the situation, and then sent us to wait in the waiting room for 4+ hours without ever even attempting to properly asses why she was there. Having medical training myself from the service I've never seen such a standard and unhelpful way to asses medical situations. I'm appalled. When a child has an inability to breath you need to at least make sure there's no obstructions. Last thing you want is a child to suffocate in your waiting room. Meanwhile a homeless gentlemen came in on an ambulance cause a guy got jumped by a bad drug deal and he's seen before a child. This is not triage. If a single one of the guys in my unit performed triage in this way he would be in for a world of hurt.March 23, 2017by Jack Schneider
